  Macaroni Hill View Hotel is a family guest house nestled in the heart of the citrus-growing district of Stann Creek in Southern Belize. It is located in the village of Pomona at the foothills of the Maya Mountains, directly opposite Macaroni Hill, from which it gets its name.
LocationWe are conveniently located adjacent to the famous Hummingbird Highway which is considered the most scenic route of Belize. But that doesn't mean that you won't find tranquility here–peace, quiet and relaxation is guaranteed, thanks to our rural setting amidst the orange groves and the wonderful roof terrace. Here you can enjoy panoramic views of the stunning surrounding scenery or do a spot of bird watching – keep a look out for our resident wild toucans nesting in adjacent trees. Even the occasional traffic adds to the ambiance–bicycles, trucks loaded with oranges and Belize's famous Bluebird buses are no more than a pleasant distraction.Accommodation & Amenities The hotel has 12 spacious rooms, all of which include ample-sized beds with quality sprung mattresses, solid-wood furnishings and creature comforts including a fridge, ceiling fan and air-conditioning. The en-suite bathrooms include both a bath and shower with unlimited steaming hot water at the turn of a tap and generous fluffy white towels to make you feel pampered. Macaroni Hill View Hotel is renowned both for its warm hospitality, in particular for the quality Belizean home-cooking that we serve. Breakfast generally consists of a variety of freshly-made hot food such as Mexican eggs and beans or boiled eggs, cheese and salsa. This is accompanied by tortillas or a plate of 'Johnny' cakes, straight out of the oven, washed down with 'bottomless' coffee and freshly-squeezed orange juice or fruit smoothies. Evening meals reflect the varied cuisine of the area and may consist of fresh fish, jerk chicken or a traditional dish such as chicken escabeche soup. All meals are served either in our ambient dining room or on the beautiful roof terrace. Things To DoIt is easy just to relax at Macaroni Hill View Hotel, taking in the citrus scents, the beautiful scenery and the sounds of the birdsong. But there are also plenty of interesting things to discover in this beautiful area of Belize which are guaranteed to add to your experience and keep you occupied for a good while.There are many more natural treasures in the Stann Creek district of Belize including waterfalls, caves and a wildlife park dedicated to the jaguar. On top of that there is the Mayan and Garifuna culture to explore by virtue of dedicated museums to each group as well Maya ruins and the constant beat of the tribal Garifuna drums in the area's principal town, Dangriga.

You can explore nearby caves, go bird watching or take a culinary tour of the famous Marie Sharp hot sauce factory or the local orange processing plant. We can also arrange for you to participate in cookery demonstrations in the house of a local family where you can not only get a taste of rural Belizean life but learn how to make anything from our famous 'Johnny cakes' to more exotic dishes such as Iguana cooked in coconut milk when it is in season. The hotel is also conveniently-placed to visit adjacent towns such as the pretty and tranquil fishing village of Hopkins just half and hour a way, or an hour further down the road to the popular coastal town of Placencia. Both towns provide the opportunity to not only enjoy a taste of Belize's coast but to visit the neighbouring cayes for some of the world's best snorkeling, diving and fishing.
